The logistics center of one of the world’s largest retailers was no longer able to meet its increasing energy demand due to grid capacity limitations. This resulted in operational constraints and limited the ability to scale further as demand continued to grow. With rising electrification and expanding logistics activities, the pressure on the existing grid connection became a critical bottleneck.

By implementing our 5.015 MWh energy storage system, this challenge was effectively resolved. The system enables advanced load shifting by storing energy during off-peak hours and deploying it during peak demand periods. In addition, peak shaving functionality reduces the strain on the grid connection, allowing the facility to remain within its contracted capacity.

Delivered in combination with a PCS from SMA, the solution ensures stable and reliable system performance under all operating conditions. Intelligent energy management optimizes the interaction between grid supply, stored energy, and site demand. This results in improved efficiency and a more balanced energy profile.

The implementation unlocks additional usable capacity without requiring costly grid reinforcements or infrastructure upgrades. It also enhances operational flexibility, allowing the site to adapt to future growth and increased energy needs. As a result, the logistics center can continue to scale its operations efficiently while maintaining reliability and cost control.
